Partner of the Week: Paytient
Paytient gives employees the flexibility to pay for healthcare expenses over time with no interest or fees, ever. Their revolving credit line can be used over and over again to make accessing routine care more affordable. Employees receive a small line of credit they can use to pay the out-of-pocket cost of care for their whole family — including pets. After each transaction, employees choose a personalized interest-free payment plan that fits their budget.
Paytient falls under our Health, Social Determinants of Health, Wealth, Financial Wellness and Whole Health. Partner Marketplace categories. Paytient is an employer-sponsored benefit that removes financial barriers to care while boosting retention, health equity, and financial wellbeing.
We are excited to announce Paytient as our Partner of the Week, where we highlight one of our unique PlanSource Marketplace Partners and the value they bring to the benefits industry. We recently sat down to discuss their unique employee benefits and how they support health and wealth within the benefits industry.
What makes your company unique in the benefits space – what key benefits do you provide to employees?
Paytient is the creator of Health Payment Accounts (HPAs), a sponsored benefit that makes it easier to pay for out-of-pocket healthcare expenses. The Paytient card unlocks access to care anywhere with interest-free credit, while the app allows members to better manage and organize their healthcare spending. Paytient partners with 1,400+ employers, insurers, and leading healthcare providers to remove financial barriers to care while boosting health plan satisfaction, plan equity, and financial wellbeing. Paytient brings no interest, no fee revolving credit line, which can be spent and repaid over and over again to the benefit space, and receives extremely positive member feedback, with 4.9 stars on Trustpilot and an NPS of 90+.
Paying for healthcare is challenging for most because healthcare is usually unplanned, and costs are difficult to predict. Increasingly, employees struggle to afford care, which stifles physical and financial wellbeing while creating serious business headwinds like turnover, absenteeism, and high cost claims. Employees—especially lower income earners— are sicker, more stressed, less financially resilient, and less productive. HDHPs, HSAs, and FSAs haven’t solved for this, while earned wage access, payday loans, and other financial wellness “benefits” burden employees with interest and fees. Paytient partners with over 1,400 thoughtful employers and insurers, such as Hyatt, Cigna, Centene, R.R. Donnelley and Commerce Bank, to ensure 700,000 Americans are better able to pay for care.
Paytient is launching Paytient Health, cash-pay care solutions designed to make affordable care easier for Paytient members to access. The first two solutions under Paytient Health are now live, including—
- Paytient Care is a virtual care service powered by Catch Health, “The Click-and-Mortar Care Platform” built by innovators behind leading digital health brands Artera and SteadyMD. Members can access virtual chat-based visits with licensed clinicians 24/7 to address issues like colds, flu, headaches, UTIs, birth control, skin issues, and certain prescriptions. Certain lab tests can be delivered to the member’s home. The service is available for $29 per visit, which can be paid by the member with the Paytient card seamlessly within the app.
- The Paytient Rx Pharmacy Discount Card is available at no cost and provides access to lower prices for some medications at the pharmacy. Members simply access their free discount card in the Paytient app and present it at any of 35,000 pharmacies to save up to $95 on their prescriptions. The pharmacist will let them know the pricing available via their insurance after benefits are applied as well as the discounted price from Paytient Rx. The member has the option to choose whichever is less expensive.
